As we reach the final week of the year, I wanted to take some time to look at the potential trends that we may find in 2022. I’d love to hear what you think and what your thoughts are:
- Remote working continues to rise in popularity
- The Great Resignation continues
- Further travel restrictions encouraging greater innovation around distributed working
- Micro certifications become more popular among newer project managers/people entering the profession
- Greater movement of people within project teams
I think if 2021 has shown us anything, it’s that there is a greater chance of further COVID related restrictions occuring and i think this will continue to have a longer lasting effect on the way that we work and how projects will run. Whilst I’ve seen many people discuss the possibility of a recession/massive redundancies, i do not see that happening unless other economic factors come into play (e.g. currency fluctuation, cyber Warfare).
I would suggest that you spend an hour this week, noting down your answers to the following:
- Where do you want to be this time next year?
- What is an important skill for you to learn?
- What would you like to achieve professionally?
I look forward to starting 2022, with you!
