PMIEMEA19 round up

The past two weeks, I have taken on the role of “Community Correspondent” with Projectmanagement.com as part of their coverage of the PMI EMEA conference in Dublin, Ireland. This included tweeting about the event but also a series of blogs/video posts which was a lot of fun but very intense!

Here are a list of all of the blogs/videos that I have written for Projectmanagement.com that i’d love to hear what you think.

This conference has to be one of the best Project Management conferences that I’ve attended. The quality of the sessions, the interactions with the speakers was all incredibly professional.

One great thing about PMI conference was the opportunity to do an offsite visit. This was to the Teeling Distillery in Dublin and as an avid whiskey fan, this was a real high point for me. We were given a private visit through the distillery and shown how they make Whiskey but apart from the Whiskey tasting we also learnt how they utilised an opportunity in the market to create and work on their brand.

The real highlight of this conference for me was the TEDTalks and hearing the inspirational speakers give us their insights and opinion. My favourite TEDTalker was: Mona Chalabi who really made me question how I view data and how important it is to show information in the ‘right’ way to your stakeholders.

I would really recommend PMI Conferences to other Project Managers who are looking for development opportunities. It’s not just a great way to earn PDUs but your ability to network with your peers is such a benefit to your overall career that I think that it’s worth the entrance price alone.
